Tappy Bird — Tap, Survive, Cashout
Tap the screen to flap upward — gravity pulls down. Dodge pipes and obstacles to keep flying. Each successful pass through obstacles boosts the progressive multiplier. The Cashout button locks the current multiplier as a payout at any moment. Crash into a pipe and the round ends with zero. Multiplayer mode lets you race rival players.
Tap Mechanic, Progressive Multipliers & Cashout
Tap the screen and the bird flaps upward — gravity does the rest. Pipes scroll horizontally and you have to thread the gaps without clipping the edges. Each clean pass through a pair of pipes nudges the on-screen multiplier higher. The longer you survive, the steeper the curve gets — early gates add small increments, later ones jump faster. The Cashout button is always live during a run, so you can lock in whatever multiplier shows on the screen at that moment as your payout.
Volatility lives entirely in pilot decisions. Cash out at 2x and you bank short, frequent wins. Push to 20x or 50x and the gap windows tighten — pipes get closer together, vertical spacing narrows, the pace accelerates. Crash into a pipe at any point and the round ends at zero, regardless of how high the meter climbed. There are no free retries, no bonus rounds, no second screens. Every round is one continuous flight.
Multiplayer Mode pairs you with rival players in the same window. You all start the same flight at the same instant, see each other's multipliers update live, and the round ends when the last bird crashes. Cashing out before others doesn't kick you from the leaderboard — the board ranks final cashout values across the lobby. Quick Cashout shortcut keys let mobile players one-tap exit while still mid-flight, which is how the 5,000x cap becomes feasible for skilled pilots who time their exits down to the millisecond.

Bonus Mechanics Explained
5 mechanics drive the 5,000x max win. Here's exactly how each one works.
Tap Mechanic
How to Trigger
Place a bet, hit Start, then tap the screen (or press Space) to flap the bird upward. No symbol triggers — input itself is the trigger.
What Happens
Each tap pushes the bird up, then gravity pulls it back down. You time taps to thread gaps between scrolling pipes. A clean pass increments your multiplier. The first few gates add small fractions (1.05x → 1.15x → 1.30x). After about 10 successful gates the curve steepens — gates add 0.5x to 1x at a time. Touch a pipe and the round closes at 0, your stake is consumed.
Multipliers
Gate 1 starts at 1.05x. Gate 5 around 1.85x. Gate 10 around 4x. Gate 20 around 25x. Gate 30 around 200x. Gate 40+ pushes toward the 5,000x cap.
Odds
Reaching gate 5 from a fresh round: ~60% with average tap timing. Gate 10: ~22%. Gate 20: ~3%. Gate 30+: under 0.4%. The 5,000x cap requires gate 40+ which lands roughly 1 in 250,000 rounds.
Variants
Desktop input is mouse-click or Space. Mobile is single-finger tap anywhere on the playfield. Touch latency on mobile is roughly 30ms tighter than desktop click — most leaderboard regulars play on phones.
Strategy
Don't fight the rhythm. Pipes scroll at a fixed speed so the optimal tap interval per gate is predictable. Practice runs in demo mode let you internalize the cadence before staking. Cash out before gates 15-20 if you're learning — that's where pipe spacing tightens and crash rate spikes.
| Input | Tap / Click / Space |
| Round End | Pipe collision = 0 |
| Gate 10 Multi | ~4x |
| Gate 20 Multi | ~25x |
| Max Cap | 5,000x |
Progressive Multipliers
How to Trigger
Active during every round. The on-screen multiplier counter starts at 1.00x the moment your bird launches and climbs with each successful pipe pass.
What Happens
The multiplier compounds in real time, visible at the top of the screen. It doesn't reset between gates within the same round — it only resets when you crash or cash out. The growth curve is non-linear: early gates add small steps, later gates add larger jumps as pipe spacing narrows. The number you see when you tap Cashout is exactly what your stake gets multiplied by.
Multipliers
1.00x at launch. Growth is roughly geometric: each successful gate multiplies the current value by 1.05-1.20x in early game, 1.30-1.80x in mid game, and up to 2.0x per gate in late stretches.
Odds
About 92% of rounds end somewhere between 1x and 5x — that is the bulk distribution. Roughly 6% land 5x-25x. About 1.5% reach 25x-200x. Anything past 200x sits below 0.5% of all rounds.
Variants
Multiplier behavior is identical across solo and multiplayer modes. The display style differs — multiplayer shows side-by-side counters for every active pilot in the lobby.
Strategy
Decide your exit multiplier before the round starts. Players who set a 3x target and stick to it post higher long-term win rates than those who improvise mid-flight. Greed kills more rounds than skill failures do.
| Start Value | 1.00x |
| Reset Trigger | Crash or Cashout |
| Typical Exit | 1x – 5x (92%) |
| Mid Range | 5x – 25x (6%) |
| Long Tail | 200x+ (<0.5%) |
Multiplayer Mode
How to Trigger
Choose Multiplayer from the lobby instead of Solo. The system queues you with other players and a synchronized round starts within 5-15 seconds.
What Happens
Every player in the lobby starts the same flight at the same instant. You see live multiplier counters for each rival on the side panel. Cashing out doesn't end the round — other birds keep flying until they crash or cash. Final lobby standings rank by exit multiplier. There's no head-to-head pot — payouts are individual based on your own multiplier × your own stake.
Multipliers
Same multiplier curve as solo mode. The competitive layer is purely social — leaderboard placement, not a payout boost.
Odds
Lobby sizes vary 4-12 pilots. Coming first place in a 12-player lobby happens roughly 1 in 12 rounds when matched against similar-skill players, but skill matchmaking is loose so variance is wide.
Variants
Public lobbies fill in seconds during peak hours. Private lobbies (invite via code) let small groups race together. Some operators run scheduled tournaments with prize pools layered on top of standard payouts.
Strategy
Don't watch rival counters mid-flight — split attention costs gates. Pick your exit number, fly your own line, glance at standings only at round end. Players who chase rival multipliers crash 2-3x more often than focused solo-style pilots.
| Lobby Size | 4-12 pilots |
| Sync Window | 5-15 sec queue |
| Payout Model | Individual (not pooled) |
| Round Length | Up to last crash |
| Leaderboard | Final multiplier rank |
Quick Cashout
How to Trigger
Available from the moment your bird launches until either crash or successful exit. Tap the Cashout button (or press Enter on desktop) at any point during the flight.
What Happens
The current multiplier value at the instant you press Cashout becomes your payout. Stake × current multiplier = win. The button has zero cooldown — you can cash out 0.3 seconds into a round if you want. Mobile gets a dedicated screen edge button to avoid conflict with the tap-to-flap zone.
Multipliers
No multiplier modifier — Cashout simply locks whatever value the on-screen counter shows.
Odds
Cashout success rate is 100% if pressed before a crash. The risk is purely timing — every additional gate carries a base ~5-15% crash probability that climbs as gates tighten.
Variants
Auto-Cashout is available in settings — pre-set a target multiplier and the system exits automatically when reached. Useful for high-frequency low-multiplier farming sessions where reaction time becomes the bottleneck.
Strategy
Auto-Cashout at 1.5x-2.0x produces the steadiest bankroll curve over long sessions. Manual cashout at 5x+ is where skill margins matter — pilots who can read pipe spacing trends consistently outperform random exits. The expected value math favors small consistent wins over moonshot attempts.
| Cooldown | None |
| Auto-Mode | Set target multiplier |
| Mobile Button | Dedicated edge zone |
| Steady Target | 1.5x – 2.0x |
| Skill Range | 5x+ manual exits |
